After clouds covered the landscape for the better part of a week, I was more determined than ever to find good light. Although the forecast wasn’t much better, I still had my tripod set up and ready to go for the evening. I was finally rewarded when the sun pierced the clouds for just a few minutes right before sunset. The volcano in Mývatn, Iceland was bathed in light while the clouds formed layers above it. As soon as I could snap the photo, the sun disappeared and the clouds took hold once more.
