It always surprises me how quickly travelers – photographers even – leave a scene after the sun sets. For me, that’s when the light show is just getting started. Colors shift rapidly as the light dims and the people walking back to their cars miss the display.
The added benefit for those of us who stick around is that we get the scene all to ourselves. I liked this area so much that I stayed until all the light had faded, and then I shot by moonlight.
