A February Walk Through Saint Petersburg, Russia in Pictures

Assuming you don’t mind the cold, February is a really great time to visit Saint Petersburg. Tourism is low so you’ll feel like you have the city all to yourself, and the city is decorated with the pretty white snow that Russia is known for. Just how cold is it? The average high is -3°C (26°F) with an average low of -8°C (16°F). Cold but not brutal, and certainly not much worse than any of the USA’s northern cities. I posted some unedited black and white shots recently; here is a full color look at Saint Petersburg:

Love these photos, too! They remided me of my several visits to the city when it was still Leningrad… There is something mesmerizing and airy about them – you can’t but keep staring at them enjoying the details and the feel.

Beautiful photos! Looks like such a peaceful city in the winter. It’s warmer than what I would have expected too! Hopefully I’ll get to Russia one day soon!
